Comments on the AVMA News Release of May 2, 2006

"Does not sound like we will have anything to say about this. I do not like that federations are deciding definitions and not us...... nk"
Nancy Kay Miller
That is my point exactly. Who died and put the AEF in charge? I doubt that the AEF is capable of telling the AVMA what I would like them to hear. Remember that this is only the AVMA trying to short circuit the efforts of the AAAOR the AVMA will know that there is a demonstration coming up and they will want to have an answer to head off the reporters. This gives them the way out they can say that they are working with the AEF “a large horse industry group” and the Beef Producers “a large industry group.”
Here is the problem:
"The Government of Alberta asked for recommendations to change the Veterinary Profession Act after an Alberta Court ruled the current Act was not specific enough to allow for the adjudication of a complaint involving a layperson performing dentistry on horses."
This is an out right lie and a misrepresentation as to what the AVMA is up to. I think that there better be some action on this on the web site. The government never asked them to produce anything. It is all the AVMA wanting this thing not the government.
